FAQs

Welcome to our FAQs and Dress Code Policy page! Here, you’ll find answers to common questions about our classes, studio policies, and attire guidelines. We aim to make your experience at Expressions Dance as smooth and enjoyable as possible. If you have further questions, feel free to reach out to us. We’re always here to help!

What happens if weather affects our class schedule?

In case of inclement weather, we will notify you via email and update our social media channels (Instagram and Facebook) with real-time information.

What if my child misses a class?

No worries! Missed classes can be made up by attending another session. Please contact our front desk to schedule a makeup session.

Where should I park when visiting the studio?

Parking is available in designated spaces near the building for drop-off and pick-up. If you plan to stay for observation or attend class, please use the designated parking lot.

How can I add, change, or drop a class?

To make changes to your class enrollment, including additions, changes, or withdrawals, please contact our front desk. Changes must be requested in writing at least five days before the monthly billing date, which occurs on the 1st of each month.

What should I do if my child has a medical condition that could affect their participation in class?

Please inform the director and teachers of any existing medical conditions or disabilities at the time of registration and throughout the year. This includes advising instructors if your child requires special medication or uses an inhaler. The more we know, the better we can support your child’s dance experience. All medical information is kept confidential to ensure a safe environment for all students.

How do I participate in the annual Spring Showcase Recital?

All students are invited to participate in our Spring Showcase Recital, which takes place at the Midway PAC. Participation is a great opportunity for students to showcase their hard work and build confidence. Recital fees, costume costs, and details about dress rehearsals will be provided as the event approaches.

What are the recital fees and what do they cover?

Recital fees cover the cost of tickets, theatre rental, programs, and other production costs. The fees are due by May 5, 2025. The standard fee for 1-2 dances is $75, while 3 or more dances is $80. Company dancers will pay $100. Additional tickets will be available after the fee is paid, and all accounts must be in good standing to purchase extra tickets.

When are costume payments due, and are there any late fees for costume orders?

Costume payments for studio classes are due in three installments: October 16, November 15, and December 16. For company classes, payments are due in two installments: October 16 and November 15. Costumes will only be ordered once payment is made in full. Late costume payments may incur additional charges, and we cannot guarantee delivery in time for the recital if payments are delayed.

What is the studio policy regarding tardiness?

Dance is a physical activity that requires proper warm-up to prevent injury. If a student arrives more than 10 minutes late, they may be asked to observe the class to ensure their safety. Regular attendance and punctuality are crucial, especially during choreography rehearsals for the year-end recital.

What is the policy on dropping or changing a class?

If you need to drop, add, or change classes, please contact our front desk. Written notification is required at least five days before the 1st of the month, as tuition is charged monthly. Any changes made after the billing date will be reflected in the following month’s tuition.

What is the carpool/drop-off and pick-up lane policy?

We ask that parents use the designated drop-off and pick-up lane to ensure the safety and efficiency of arrivals and departures. Please do not park in the carpool lane. This lane is for quick drop-offs and pick-ups only, to avoid congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow.

What is the pick-up/drop-off policy for students aged 5 and up?

Students aged 5 and up should be dropped off and picked up at the door. Parents may leave, wait in the parking lot, or briefly observe the class. We encourage drop-off/pick-up to help instill independence in our students and reduce lobby congestion.
